Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos
Air Fryer Shrimp Tacos season and air fry shrimp until just cooked through, then pile them into tortillas with cabbage and avocado.
Shrimp are wonderfully fast to cook and almost comically unwilling to forgive distraction. These air fryer shrimp tacos lean into that speed: large peeled shrimp get olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt, then cook at 400°F for only five to six minutes. That is enough time for them to turn opaque and pick up a little color at the edges without crossing into the rubber-band phase. Make the lime crema before the shrimp go in, because once seafood starts cooking, this is not the moment to discover the sour cream is hiding behind three jars of pickles.
Warm the tortillas while the shrimp cook, then stack each taco with shredded cabbage, avocado, the seasoned shrimp, sour-cream lime crema, cilantro, and another squeeze of lime. The contrast is what makes the whole thing work: hot smoky shrimp, cool creamy avocado, crisp cabbage, bright acid, and a tortilla with just enough char to taste like it participated. Dinner lands in roughly the time it takes somebody to ask what is for dinner, reject two imaginary alternatives, and then become suddenly very interested when they smell cumin and toasted tortillas.
