Ranch Oyster Crackers
Ranch Oyster Crackers take about 25 minutes: coat oyster crackers with melted butter, ranch seasoning, dill, and garlic powder, then bake at 250°F for about 20 minutes, stirring once. Let them cool before storing so the coating stays crisp instead of steaming inside the container.
The point of ranch oyster crackers is not subtlety. Every little cracker should come out salty, herby, and dry enough that the seasoning clings instead of pooling at the bottom of the bowl. Melted butter gives the ranch mix something to grab, while the low oven dries the coating onto the crackers without browning them into rubble.
The one move that matters is cooling them completely before they go into a container. Warm crackers trap steam, and steam turns a crisp snack into tiny seasoned sponges. Give them ten quiet minutes on the sheet pan first. Then put the bowl somewhere people can reach it and accept that you probably made a snack instead of a side dish.
